My studio "Shades of Green" is surrounded by an old growth maple forest and my favourite garden plants. The name “Shades of Green” comes from literally the Shades of Green that can be seen from my deck in the spring.
I spend the majority of my time throwing but dabble in hand building. Working with clay brings me a sense of peace and fulfillment. As I centre clay I become more grounded. My glazing includes a mixture of dipping, accents and spraying.
I have gained my expertise through experimentation and some short term classes. The opportunity to mentor with Cathi Jefferson and K.J. MacAllister has provided technical knowledge as well as inspiration.
I have spent most of my professional career as an educator in Alberta. With my recent move to the Cowichan Valley I am now looking forward to the opportunity to move towards becoming a professional potter.
